It really does not matter how much experience you have in playing live poker tournaments. Playing the WSOP is an experience in itself and requires a different strategy.

The tensed atmosphere of this prestigious event can negatively affect your game. It is therefore important to remain calm at all times. Remind yourself that almost everyone is as nervous as you are. There are hundreds, perhaps even thousands of players who participate in the WSOP for the first time and they all feel just like you.

Make sure you're prepared and arrive at the venue well before the start of the tournament. Try to get used to the environment and chat to the people around you.

Hopefully you will be able to play your best game and you might even survive the first day of play. However, even after the first thousand players are forced to leave they tournament you are still in the early stages of the WSOP. It is fine to play a little loose at the beginning, but at some punt you will have to start to play increasingly tight poker. You should avoid becoming the low stack of the table. That’s something you cannot afford at the WSOP.
